Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is renowned as a premier global destination for gorilla trekking, attracting primate and nature enthusiasts from all over the world. Home to half of the living mountain gorilla population, shared with Mgahinga National Park, the lush, hilly, and forested landscape of Bwindi offers more than just gorilla encounters. You’ll have the opportunity to engage in a variety of adventure activities throughout this immersive gorilla safari, including hiking, bird watching, and cultural tours.

        • Immerse yourself in Kampala’s rich culture, visiting attractions like the Uganda Museum, Kasubi Tombs, Nakasero Market, craft markets, Namirembe Cathedral, and Kibuli Mosque.

        • Experience a traditional lunch at a local restaurant.

    • Ngamba Island Day Trip (Half Day):
        • Travel by a small motorboat to the forested Ngamba Island, a safe haven for juvenile orphaned chimpanzees.

        • Explore the island’s diverse flora, a paradise for birdwatchers, and witness the chimpanzees during their feeding timings.

    • Nile River Rafting in Jinja (Full Day):
        • Begin at the source of the River Nile for an exceptional full-day rafting experience covering 25 km, including thrilling rapids (novice-friendly options available).

        • Enjoy morning snacks, lunch, a barbecue dinner, and return transfers to your Kampala/Entebbe hotels.

TRIP ITINERARY

Upon your arrival at Entebbe Airport, our representative will warmly welcome you. You’ll be transferred to The Boma Entebbe for check-in and an overnight stay. Depending on your arrival time, you can opt for an optional city tour of Entebbe, exploring its historical buildings dating back over half a century. Optional visits to Entebbe Botanical Gardens or Uganda Wildlife Education Centre are available.

In the early morning, you’ll be transferred to Entebbe Airport for your flight to Kihihi airstrip. Upon arrival, your safari guide will receive you, and you’ll embark on a scenic drive through the Ugandan countryside to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. The journey offers views of terraced hillsides and traditional settlements. You’ll arrive at Mahogany Springs Lodge, situated on the forest’s edge, before lunch. Bwindi is a biologically diverse area, home to nearly 350 bird species, 120 mammals, and various insect species, including the endangered mountain gorillas.

Embark on a gorilla trek in the early morning, guided by experienced trackers. Journey through the mist-shrouded forests, scrambling over mossy rocks and through dense undergrowth. Despite the challenges, the encounter with gorillas in their natural habitat is an unforgettable experience. Expert ranger guides will share insights into the history and lifestyle of the gorillas. After spending an hour with them, return to Mahogany Springs Lodge to relax. In the evening, explore Batwa communities to learn about their culture and traditions.

After breakfast, transfer to Kihihi airstrip for your departure flight to Entebbe. At Entebbe Airport, check in for your international departure flight.
